Toddler Daycare in Rochester, NY
The toddler years are filled with curiosity, discovery, and growing independence. At Twelve Corners Day Care Center, our toddler program provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, build relationships, and develop new skills. Our experienced teachers support each child's development while providing the consistent care and encouragement toddlers need.
Toddler Care for Children 18 Months-3 Years
Our toddler program is designed for children approximately 18 months through 3 years of age. At this stage, children are becoming more independent every day, developing their language, discovering how the world works, and learning how to interact with others.
Our teachers provide age-appropriate activities and guidance while allowing children opportunities to make choices, explore their surroundings, and develop confidence at their own pace.
Encouraging Independence
Toddlers are eager to do things for themselves, and we encourage that growing independence in positive and age-appropriate ways. Children have opportunities to practice simple routines such as cleaning up, making choices, participating in classroom activities, and taking care of their belongings.
Our teachers provide encouragement and assistance when needed while giving children the time and space to try new things for themselves.
Learning Through Play
Play is an important way toddlers learn about themselves and the world around them. Our teachers provide hands-on opportunities for children to explore, build, create, imagine, and experiment.
Through age-appropriate toys, sensory experiences, music, movement, art, books, and active play, children develop early problem-solving skills while having fun and building confidence.
Language & Communication
Toddlers experience tremendous growth in their language and communication skills. Teachers encourage children to express their ideas, ask questions, listen to others, and expand their vocabulary through conversations, books, songs, stories, and everyday classroom interactions.
We create opportunities for children to communicate with both teachers and classmates while helping them develop the confidence to express their needs and ideas.
Social & Emotional Development
Learning how to interact with other children is an important part of the toddler years. Our teachers help children learn to share, take turns, communicate, cooperate, and begin solving simple conflicts.
We provide consistent guidance and encouragement while helping children recognize and express their feelings in appropriate ways. These early experiences help children build relationships and develop important social and emotional skills.
A Consistent Daily Routine
Toddlers thrive when they know what to expect. Our daily routines provide a balance of active play, learning experiences, meals, rest, and quiet activities while giving children opportunities to explore and make choices.
A predictable routine helps children feel secure while also giving them the flexibility to follow their individual interests and developmental needs.
Supporting Growing Toddlers
Every child develops at their own pace. Our teachers pay attention to each child's interests, abilities, and developmental progress so they can provide appropriate encouragement and support.
As toddlers develop new skills, we provide opportunities for them to practice those skills and take on new challenges. Our goal is to help each child become increasingly confident, capable, and independent.
Preparing for Preschool
As children approach the preschool years, we help them prepare for the transition by encouraging greater independence and participation in classroom routines. Children practice following directions, participating in group activities, communicating with teachers and friends, and taking responsibility for simple tasks.
Our goal is to help children enter preschool feeling comfortable, confident, and excited about their next stage of learning.
